Hello there! I am a Ph.D candidate in the Evolution, Ecology, and Behavior (EEB) program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. I am part of the Omland Lab, where I study female song and year-round territoriality in a tropical oriole, the endangered Bahama Oriole (Icterus northropi, above on the left) and a temperate oriole, the Orchard Oriole (Icterus spurius, above on the right). My dissertation research uses vocal recordings, playback experiments, and radio-tracking to study the behavior of male and female birds in the wild.
I grew up near Denver, Colorado, and received my B.S in Zoology from Colorado State University. I am passionate about teaching, mentorship, and public outreach. To stay up to date with my research, conference talks, or just fun bird facts, follow me on Twitter!
